Diet and norms to avoid catching a cold

With the arrival of fall, colds and flu will be on the agenda. For this, we must try to be alert and ready to deal this season with the best guarantees. A few small details that our body needs to help to prevent these diseases in a natural way, which rather than dangerous, are very annoying.

You should begin the day with a natural fruit juice prepared at home, squeezed or liquefied. Specifically it would be good to take a juice made from oranges and three half grapefruit or juice of four liquefied carrots and an apple or a basis of two kiwis. Equally it would be advisable to merge among themselves, because they are a source of vitamins and antioxidants, which protect us during the day and promote peristalsis of the digestive system, thereby improving the problem of constipation and help further to eliminate toxins. After the juice, we continue with our breakfast based on whole grain cereal, complete with soy milk or yogurt, or who do not like cereal, toast with goat or sheep cheese, or a tofu with a glass of soymilk.

At mid-morning, it would be advisable to eat a piece of fruit or nuts. For lunch, we will take a salad, which combine all kinds of vegetables, emphasizing that they are just vegetables, followed by a second plate, which could well be a cooked fish. It is best not to take anything for dessert, as if you often take fruit, it is best eaten before the main dish. In those fresh days we can eat vegetables instead of salad and is also needed to start entering the cooked vegetables and pasta, brown rice with vegetables. Whenever you eat all three dishes, i.e., pasta, beans or rice, you must remember that should accompany dishes only with vegetables, not to introduce any protein.

At mid-afternoon, it is always important to eat a piece of fruit or nuts. In the evening, with dinner, the important thing is to avoid eating protein, so as not to overload the work of our liver. It should be light dinner and recalling that premise of our grandparents, we must "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a poor man."

To continue with our immunological preparation for this autumn, we must not forget exercise. There is a tendency to do less exercise during the autumn-winter, the cold or perhaps a return to work, but lack of physical activity increases more toxins from our body, also increasing the free radicals’ which are substances that we are slowly oxidized, causing disease and making us catch all the colds of the season. If on the contrary, we exercise, we will remove free radicals, while encouraging our respiratory system, heart and strengthen our immune system. Therefore, I encourage you to do that exercise, to continue doing so, and those who do not, to begin now, because your body will thank you.

Finally, try prevention within orthomolecular medicine that is very effective in both adults and children. This is about taking vitamin and mineral supplements during the months that have an 'R' in its phonetic, i.e. from September to April. Although, depending on the person in front, sitting on our consultation, prevention will vary according to their past and present illnesses, according to constitution, and so on. I.e., the prescription will be done individually. However, for more general, for all of us, we could advise the following formula. 1 gram of vitamin C every morning, our breakfast juice, plus a complex of vitamins and minerals. For those who tend to suffer each year from influenza and who do not usually get out of bed these days, we advise: 500 mg. of copper and 500 mg. of Echinacea. Subsequently, at noon, a complex with zinc, vitamin B6 and manganese, which are responsible for immune regulation.

For children, there are also some chewable vitamins with a pleasant fruity flavor, which also makes a good time, children believe they are eating candy, while also preparing for the arrival of autumn-winter and to complete their physical and intellectual development. For children, I recommend taking a full complex of vitamins and minerals in the morning, appropriate to their age, along with 250 mg. of vitamin C. Furthermore, we should add some help of homeopathy.
