The Talega: Association of Ethical Consumption

Published: 09/25/2006 - Updated: 11/20/2016

"The Talega” is an association of ethical consumerism working initially in two parts: organic consumption and barter. When these two branches, it must be consolidated, possibly, other address as the solidarity economy, fair trade, and so on.

They do not mix these two branches. Are independent. Organic consumption is developed in such a way that is fairly easy to access. We have articulated a few simple mechanisms so that any citizen can access it. If successful in Alcalá, some colleagues would be willing to pitch a tent.

Moreover, barter is an exchange of goods and services among all members of The Talega who want to barter, of course.

Each demand and supply a range of goods and services. These are embodied in a bulletin. Each value and pricing their services (with a currency that we have called "bollo", which we have given a reference value of half a euro). However, everything is negotiable. The offeror and speak applicant agree on the characteristics of the exchange price, date, time, and so on.

At present, after two months of operation, we are making barter a dozen people. Volume have driven a truck that can be translated into the conventional market is around one million pesetas.

Barter setting shows a number of capabilities that we all have to reject the system for not being competitive. This increases self-esteem, creates friendships and saves you from your family finances.

What does the topic of barter mean?

Several people have agreed to exchange services or such things, "paying" these services with a fictitious monetary unit the "bollo", it is not always agreement between A and B on an exchange, but C maybe can give to A something that interests him, and B to C, and all with all.

It would be awesome to find a place like this in this city, I would love to see and look for things that may be helpful to me and get rid of the ones that are useless to me or I do like anymore, it is a very good technique to take advantage of what is already done

Wow! How interesting, and how IMPRESSIVE! I can’t believe they’ve create such an all-inclussive, practical philosophy towards life and education! This is great! I wish teh states would adopt a similar philosophy to take over the entire country, but somehow I don’t ever see that happening. There’s no money in keeping the planet alive…so politicians will never go for it.
