Biodiversity and Organic food awards 2007

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Environment Ministry has launched its first call for "ecological and biodiversity Food Awards 2007" in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and the Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture (SEAE).

With these awards, they want to recognize the actions in the sector of organic food, to reward the production of quality food in a model that respects the conservation of natural resources such as water, soil, seeds and breeds household and wildlife, landscape and rural culture.

Biodiversity Foundation will award $ 3,000 to the best producer of organic food, personal and family, the best consumer organization specializing in this sector, and the best journalistic work published in any media on organic food.

Without any funding, these places were are considered: the best company or cooperative producing organic food, the best company or cooperative in production inputs used in organic food production, to the best specialist in the sale of organic products, the best company in the hospitality sector of organic food, the best research or testing of organic agri-food, and the person, association or entity, public or private, stressing their support for this model.

These awards may be submitted to both farmers and companies, associations, public and private institutions, journalists and individuals carrying out their profession in Spain.

    I love the fact that there are organizations out there that are providing support and incentives for food producers to continue making the best foods they can. This is wonderful that there is so much support for organic agriculture, recognition will continue to motivate them to do good work.
