The dressings, dips and sauces are the perfect complement to many dishes, serve well to accompany the snack at parties or meetings or to give the salad a unique and special flavor. It's easy and fast to prepare in your kitchen in a very natural way, you only need a few ingredients, ten minutes of your time and much encouragement (Did you know that cooking with joy and singing is a practice used by some Hindus to be full of food positive energy?)

Basil dressing

Ingredients:

  • A small head of garlic, peeled
  • Three cups of olive oil cold pressed
  • half cup of basil, washed and disinfected
  • Some drops lemon

Preparation:

  1. Blend garlic with oil at the maximum speed of your blender for about 5 seconds.
  2. Then add the basil and lemon drops. Save this in a mix without straining tightly covered glass jar and let stand a few days in the refrigerator. You can use this dressing on your salad.

Green dressing

(This dressing contains much vitamin E and vegetable fats for skin and hair)

  • 2 medium avocados
  • One large garlic clove
  • Juice of 5 lemons or 7 (depending on taste)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • Half teaspoon of ground cumin
  • One teaspoon of sesame seeds (optional)
  • Some sprigs of cilantro, washed, disinfected and very finely chopped (optional)
  • A quarter of finely chopped onion
  • A trickle of water
  • One cup of olive oil cold pressed
  • sea salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. Put into a mold two avocados, peeled (leave a bone in the mold). Stir with a fork and mash well avocados. Add chopped onion, lemon, soy sauce, the cumin, a dash of water, salt and stir well.
  2. Blend olive oil with the garlic clove and add to the mix.
  3. Once all ready, empty well stirring into the pan aside (leave a bone of avocado in dressing to avoid spoiling) and decorate with coriander and sesame seeds on top. This dressing is ideal when you have a small party to accompany sandwiches, breads, pizza, sandwiches, potatoes, etc.

Mint dressing

Ingredients:

  • One cup of sunflower seeds
  • A trickle of water
  • Half cup of extra virgin olive oil
  • One medium clove of garlic
  • A quarter cup of fresh mint (washed, disinfected)
  • Juice of 5 lemons (or to taste)
  • sea salt to taste
  • Piece of onion
  • Three of tablespoons of shoyu (soy sauce 100%)

Development:

  1. Blend sunflower seeds alone. They are well-cut adding water (half cup). When you see that is creamy, add the mint and other ingredients and grind together.
  2. If you see the mixture is very thick, add a little more water. This dressing goes well with a salad of lettuce, spinach or alfalfa sprouts.

White dip (cottage cheese or cream cheese)

Ingredients:

  • One cup of cottage cheese (can substitute cream cheese or curd
  • A quarter of tablespoons of dill or mint (or both), washed, disinfected and finely chopped.
  • Five tablespoons of olive oil (or to taste)
  • Juice of half a lemon (or a few drops to your preference)
  • sea salt to taste
  • Olives to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
  • A little bit of soy milk

Development:

  1. Toss cheese with choice of mint or dill, olive oil, lemon, sea salt and onion. If the mixture is too thick, pour a little soy milk (or juice from cans of olives), so that your mixture is a soft cream.
  2. Once all ingredients are well incorporated, pour it into an ovenproof glass and decorate with olives. This dip may be accompanied by wonderful breads, snacks, tortillas, etc.

Caribbean Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • A quarter teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 3 tablespoons of corn oil
  • 3 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons of Tamari (soy sauce 100%)
  • One medium clove of garlic very finely minced
  • Three teaspoons of white wine

Development:

  1. Put a skillet over low heat and hence the mixture of sesame oil, corn, garlic, soy sauce, white wine, cinnamon, honey, and stir constantly for two minutes.
  2. Pour into a container (cup). This sauce goes very well with the steamed vegetables and salad, just pour it over and done.

The best part of a good salad of course is the dip you use to make it different from the rest of the salads, and you use your imagination to find new flavors that would go very well with the rest of ingredients, thanks a lot for giving ideas for this

That basil dressing recipes sounds just amazing!! There’s a reason i love pesto sauce so much, and it’s precisely because I just can’t get enough basil in my diet!! I’m so glad to find ANOTHER way of including basil in meals, in such a healthy way. All of these look great!
