MAPA published a book on techniques and products for organic agriculture
It collects both the knowledge acquired by farmers and ranchers on the management of fields and livestock, such as new techniques that have been investigated in recent years.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has edited, along with the Spanish Association of Organic Agriculture (SEAE), a publication on knowledge, techniques and products for organic agriculture and livestock, a collection of information updates on the latest research in this area as well as the inputs that market-ups.
The new publication is, therefore, the knowledge acquired by farmers and ranchers in the management of the fields and livestock, as well as research and new techniques used in Organic Agriculture and Livestock that have allowed the implementation of new strategies adapted to the conditions of agro-ecosystems.
The first part discusses the bases for production, consumption and regulation of the industry by compiling a summary of the technical basis for management from the agro-organic agriculture, through the analysis of aspects as the eco-certification, utilization of organic matter, seeds and plant materials, propagation techniques, prevention and health in organic livestock, the coexistence between GM crops, food and markets for organic products.
In the second part are the new inputs for use in organic agriculture and livestock, providing the new companies in recent years, ranging from green manures and plant protection products such as insecticides, baits, Homeopathy fungicides and plant ready to plant genetic resources, machinery for composting and biological veterinary medicine.
In the last section, the publication includes a list of commercial, regulatory body and control bodies, as well as a general index of products, active substances and species, and insects and diseases, without converting an official guide book on the subject, but a practical means to facilitate handling at the farm for those farmers that have already been incorporated into organic production, and for those who will make the transition to organic systems.
