CAAE and EXTENDA join together to promote Andalusian organic products

The Andalusian Association Committee of Organic Agriculture (CAAE) has signed a partnership agreement with the Andalusian Agency for the Promotion Abroad (EXTENDA) for the joint development of initiatives for the promotion and internationalization of Andalusian companies of organic agriculture sector.

Under the agreement, a plan of join sectoral international advocacy was drawn up for the year 2007 which covers communication activities, publications, technical seminars on international marketing, participation in sectoral fairs and missions program of reverse with Switzerland and Scandinavian countries.

Spring and Fall Technical Conference will be held, two International Marketing campaigns to exporting companies potential in international markets. They provide information on different areas of interest and will be assisted by rapporteurs specialized in business internationalization.

The second day will focus specifically on the Asian market for organic products due to the potential in Chinese and Korean markets for organic products.

Among joint communication activities to be carried out, there is the international edition of the journal Ecological Politics in English and German, in a biannual basis. The publication of two annual issues of the journal coincides with the celebration of the most representative international fairs in the sector. Also they published a catalog of Andalusian enterprises for organic agriculture markets.

Plan of joint activities promotes organic products at international fairs in Andalusia, this year has been proposed assistance to the All Things Organics Fair being held in Chicago (United States) from 7th to May 9th.

Attendance at this event responds to the increase in organic food market in United States, a sector which recorded an annual increase of 20% of consumption in the country. It is also planned to organize a mission to reverse with distributors and buyers of the organic sector in Switzerland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark to be given to know the Andalusian supply of organic products.

Also, they will promote ALAMODA project and market that combines fashion and Andalusian olive oil production in Germany.

    I wonder why they’re looking at the Asian market for organic products – I was under the impression that Asia (China more specifically) was VERY backwards in terms of organic and sustainable anything. A friend of mine is living in China now and says the smog is so bad she has to wear a mask just ot walk to work.
