BIOTERRA 2006: New edition of the fair of agriculture and organic food Fair

One year more, the organic sector has to support a new edition of Bioterra, the fair cross, strictly organic, which is held annually in Ficoba, Recinto Ferial de Gipuzkoa. The marketing of the Hall is well and, in addition to the usual exhibitors, other fourteen have already confirmed their attendance. This year the fair celebrates its third edition, significantly advancing the dates and will take place from May 26th to 28th.

Bioterra is a forum to disseminate environmental profile and the parallel activities that complement the exhibition section of the fair.

A seminar on permaculture by the U.S. expert Richard Wade is confirmed. It will address the system design, aimed at creating environmentally sustainable human environments, and economically viable, based on observation of how natural systems and that can be applied to fields as disparate as farming systems, urban planning, architecture or organizational and economic structures.

Bioterra also brings to the Fair “Irún” a novel experience of the French town of Bègles, which has launched an initiative with organic cateringin school canteens and in the local dining, driven by the City Council.

Bioterra will approach one of the names mentioned in the ecological culture, he is the French expert Claude Aubert, driver of movement of organic agriculture who will deliver two lectures that take place in a reflection on the development of organic agriculture from its beginnings and its impact on health and the environment.

Renewable energy will figure prominently in the show. The Basque Energy, EVE, that this year will also be present as exhibitor and Users Association Renewable Energy Euskadi eta Argi Gharbi, addressed the problem of energy shortage.

Agro-food will cover topics such as difficulties in the marketing of organic beef, or the consequences of new European regulations on agriculture.

The fair this year dedicated to the mud houses, vineyards, exhibitions, tastings of various products and workshops for adults and children, complete the wide range of activities provided.
