How to reduce stress and anxiety


Stress and Anxiety have become very common problems in our society, these currently affect not only adults, but also young people and children, who also live a very fast life, full of technological advances and information, which often can not be easily assimilated or correctly addressed, causing health and psychological problems.

Stress


Stress is a natural process of the body that generates an automatic response to a threat which implies the use of all the physical and mental resources to face this threat, when this state is permanent or chronic affects the emotional balance of the person , also causing diseases. In a world in constant change, we are all forced to adapt, stress is necessary in this process, in this case it is a positive stress.

Although at first it is a necessary response for adaptation, if this prolongs our health, school or professional performance, and even interpersonal or couple relationships can become unbalanced.

The symptoms of stress are fear, confusion and states of irritability, difficulty concentrating, self-criticism, loss of memory, and nervousness among others.

The physical symptoms that can occur are headaches, back and neck pain, stomach pains, fatigue, and tachycardia among others.

Anxiety


Anxiety is a natural adaptive mechanism that allows us to be alert to the events that occur, and a certain degree of anxiety helps to be cautious especially in risky situations. An anxiety not exaggerated helps the concentration, but if the answer to the anxiety works incorrectly or in exaggerated form, physical and emotional symptoms appear.

Anxiety manifests emotionally and physically. Among the emotional symptoms are permanent worry, irritability, sleep problems, and concentration. Among the physical symptoms are tachycardia, sweating, dizziness, muscle tension, digestive problems, etc.

Among the anxiety disorders we have generalized or chronic anxiety, panic, phobic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety or post-traumatic stress.

Prevention of stress and anxiety


For the prevention of this problem it is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle, avoid the consumption of stimulants.

Perform physical exercise, walk, walk outdoors. Relaxation techniques are also very effective.
