Several groups will form the Seminar on marketing of organic products, to be held on October 28th in Madrid. This event is aimed at managers, office professionals, responsible for purchasing and selling retail and distribution of traditional food.
Under the "Action Plan for the Promotion of Organic Farming 2007-2010" , the Marmo has launched the proposal with the aim of providing the retail expertise on the system of organic farming and provide tools and strategies of marketing and sell the product to facilitate the submission and supply of organic products to their customers. On that Day will address issues related market of organic product, said market trends and consumer specific training on marketing to the organic product, its promotion and communication, and logistics and supplies.
It is that while Spain is the second largest producer of organic food, The European Union has not yet been able to increase domestic consumption and also has been found insufficient knowledge of these products by consumers. Moreover, Spain has yet structure with a limited marketing and a problem of export dependency.
Also believes that we need to improve the position in the domestic markets, especially in retail. Within this framework is that Marmo has developed the "Action Plan for the Promotion of Organic Farming 2007-2010", whose main objective is to boost domestic demand using the information consumers and improving the structures of product marketing. I defintely think that in the US at least, there needs to be a lot more information readily available to the consumer regarding organic products and the mainstream “alternatives” vs. foods that are not organic. Keep up the marketing seminars and get the word out!
