The wine can be considered as one of the great heritage of Castilla-La Mancha for its economic and social importance. This is a strategic sector for the region that has the largest vineyard in the world, with about 600,000 hectares, representing 50% of the vineyards of Spain and 17% of Europe.

Winegrowing of Castilla-La Mancha is fully competitive and is in a leading position in terms of varieties and cultivation methods, technology, wine quality and value for money.

The average production of wine and juice is between 20 and 25 million hectoliters, of which 4 million are wines with geographical indication and quality wines come from specified regions (psr). In Castilla-La Mancha nine denominations of origin: Valdepeñas, Almansa, La Mancha, Méntrida, Mondéjar, Manchuela, Ribera del Jucar, Uclés and Jumilla, this is part of its area in the Region of Murcia) and four wine Payments, appellations of origin is to protect unique certain wines, born of a close relationship between vineyard and winery and have an exceptional quality as recognized by experts and consumers. These are: Finca Elez, Domain Valdepusa, Guijosa and Dehesa del Carrizal. In total with an area of 276,565 hectares. There is also mention the wines of Castile which was created to facilitate identification in the market for wines that meet the demands of a market lot different than choosing to OJ or table wine.
