If you thought wine was meant only to be enjoyed as a drink to get drunk, then you're wrong. You can also use this alcoholic beverage of fermented fruit to give your skin a fresh glow and remove stains.
Depending on skin type, you can mix a variety of ingredients such as almonds, essential oil and rose water with wine; you can even do a wine therapy for facial rejuvenation in home.
The antioxidant properties of wine help fight toxins from the skin. Facials with wine are also great for skin tightening and to close the pores.
What wine to choose?
Each wine has a different composition and should be used according to your skin type. If you have dry skin, choose a sweet wine with a small amount of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) for water retention. If you have acne-prone skin, you should use red wine because it has a high concentration of resveratrol and polyphenols, which reduce inflammation while prevent damage from free radicals. To combate dry skin, use a dry wine which has a higher concentration of natural AHAs as citric acid and malic acid.
While red wine has anti-aging properties, white wine is good to close the open pores and acne prevention.
We also recommend that you use a cream suitable for your skin in the company of wine therapy, for best results. You can add the rose water if you have sensitive skin, almond paste, if you have dry skin or aloe vera juice if you have oily skin problem.
Before applying any facial, be sure to clean your face using a cleansing cream to massage the face, moisturize the skin and remove dirt. So do it for five to seven minutes and then clean with a cotton ball.
Then expose your face to soft steam to open the pores, and finally apply the right mix for your skin, wine, herbs and essential oils on your face.
Apply the mixture to your face and pour a little with the tips of the fingers. The massage should start from the forehead with thumbs and fingers on the sides. Press the space between the eyebrows using the thumb. Continue the massage in a circular motion down the jaw line to the chin and draw a line under the chin to the sides. This will relax the facial muscles and allow wine properties to act, do not apply pressure.
