Counselor of Agriculture and Fisheries, stressed the role of certification in ensuring the transparency of organic products.

Counselor of Agriculture and Fisheries, Isaías Pérez Saldaña, highlighted in Utrera (Seville) the leadership of Organic Agriculture in Andalusia in Spain, with an area of 537,269 hectares, 57% of the total area Spanish, well ahead of the rest of the Autonomous Communities at the opening of new facilities Sohiscert, national entity dedicated to the certification of organic products.

Pérez Saldaña noted that organic agriculture is no longer a minority sector to become one of the fastest growing sectors, its capacity for innovation, employment and business, showed that for the attainment of these achievements there was a decisive bet in the Ministry, with the creation of two instruments: The Andalusian Plan for Organic Agriculture and the Department of Organic Agriculture.

In this regard, stressed the importance of the II Organic Agriculture Andalusian Plan
that will perform the certification work, in ensuring the transparency of production and the fundamental work in this certification.

Counselor of Agriculture and Fisheries explained the need to address this matter in further developing policy that will ensure harmonization and coordination of the system, establishing a penalty system, a single registry operator, and an increased collaboration with other administrations. At the same time highlighting the important progress for companies like this for the industry and government, will involve the implementation of a certification system at the level of farmers, for optimizing processes and reducing costs for small-scale producers, who are most in Andalusia.

This is great news! This means that the organics sector is growing, receiving more interest from the public, and generally succeeding more than in past years! I would love to visit Europe some time and check out all the organics promotions they have going on.
