7 Simple homemade masks for Acne

Honey, lettuce, oranges, carrots, and more, are ingredients easily to find in your kitchen, and you can use to fight acne by following simple recipes for masks.

Acne is a very common condition that affects the sebaceous glands in the skin, causing very obvious lesions, which can be painful and also affect our self esteem.

These injuries usually occur in areas of the chin and forehead regularly, being the famous "T". A low fat diet rich in saturated and in plant foods is essential to reduce it.

Mask with lettuce

Ingredients

  • Lettuce
  • Water

Preparation

Take lettuce leaves and place them in a half cup of water. And use the mixer to form a mixture. Gently apply the mask on your face, and let act for 30 minutes. Wash your face with cold water to remove the mask.

Carrot Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium carrot

Preparation

Wash and chop the carrot before putting it in the blender. Add one egg and mix well. Place the mask on your face and let it act for 30 minutes. Wash your face with warm water.

Orange Mask

Ingredients

  • The skin of an orange
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt

Preparation

Take orange peel and mix it with yogurt and oatmeal until a consistent mixture.
Apply to the face and allow acting for 30 minutes.
Rinse with cold water.

Honey Mask with Lemon

It is a useful tool to control outbreaks of acne, and progressively eliminating them

Ingredients

  • The juice of one lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

Preparation

In a bowl mix well the lemon with honey. Apply the mixture on your face and leave on for 15 minutes.
Wash with water.
This mask can be applied only during the night, as the lemon juice can stain the skin if exposed to sunlight.

Cinnamon Honey Mask

This mask exfoliates our skin and allows the absorption of vitamins and nutrients in it.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

Preparation

Mix well cinnamon with honey and apply on your face at night before you lie down. After 15 minutes, wash with warm water.

Mask of yogurt with cucumber and parsley

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • A handful of parsley leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt

Preparation

Chop the cucumber and peel everything and put in the blender, add the parsley and yogurt, and whisk until a consistent mixture.
Apply the mask on your face gently, and let stand for 20 minutes.
Remove with warm water.

Mask with melon and apple

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • ½ piece of melon

Preparation

Chop the apple and melon, put them in the blender and whisk to form a puree. If the resulting mixture is not consistent, add a little oatmeal.
Apply on face with gentle circular movements from the bottom of your face on your chin to your forehead.
Leave on for 15 minutes and remove with warm water and a paper towel.

How to apply your mask

It is recommended to clean the skin and prepare it for the application of masks for acne, put into practice the following steps:

Wash your face gently with a neutral soap or preferably oats and dry with an absorbent disposable towel. To dry your face, gently pat instead of rubbing.
Mix two tablespoons of yogurt with a pinch of baking soda and grease it lightly on your face. If your skin is oily, let stand for 5 minutes, if you have dry skin three minutes are sufficient, and for normal skin, let stand for 1 minute.
Rinse and dry your face again following the first step.
Then extend the mask of your choice and let stand.
Finally, to close the pores, mix 5 drops of camphor to half a cup of yogurt, using a wooden spatula and apply the mixture on your face, leaving it on.
Remove with warm water and a spray bottle, spray some cold mineral water.

Exfoliate your skin

After acne disappears, it tends to leave dark spots on the skin, which eventually fade and disappear. However, you can speed the process, exfoliating the skin.

A cheap and easy way to do it is with sodium bicarbonate. Endowed with natural properties of microdermabrasion, it is an excellent ally to exfoliate the skin.

To do this, mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a little water and rub face with this preparation gently, wash immediately with plenty of water and dry well. You can exfoliate your skin once a week.

Really? These are all crazy easy recipes. I wonder how good it really is for your skin though? It seems like every time I start washing my face my breakouts get worse. So when I stop, my body seems to regulate itself. The best thing for me has been just rinsing my face with water when I shower (no soap or exfoliator), adn then using tea tree oil on any small pimples that pop up.
