Traditional Uses: It is traditionally used for loss of appetite and dyspeptic, such as mild abdominal cramps disorders; by externally as supportive treatment of minor injuries, minor inflammations of skin and mucous membranes, such as insect repellent, and as sitz baths in spasms of the pelvic area.

Description: Yarrow is a herbaceous plant that can reach about 75 centimeters high. The leaves are divided in a way that gives the impression of each sheet is constituted in turn by hundreds of small leaves. The flowers are yellow-white and all appear at the top of the plant, virtually the same level. Often grows in meadows and slopes, requiring a certain degree of humidity. It harvested when the plant is in full bloom.

Curiosities: Popularly considered from ancient plant capable of cutting bleeding, as indicated by their common names in different languages: Grass wounds, Herba of talls, Erba¬dos-Carpinteiros, erba-dos-military or erva- das-¬cortadelas, Herbe Herbe Charpentier and Saint Joseph (legend has it that having been wound occurred san Joseph, the baby Jesus went to get a plant to heal and proved yarrow).
