Reflexology is a healing art from more than 4000 years ago where cultures like Egyptian and China used it as a medical discipline. Scanning your body was gradually discovering the existence of points on your body in very specific and sensitive way where applying some pressure, could stimulate the functioning of certain organs, glands and systems. With time, this knowledge was extended and refined, the study became more profound and serious which led to the development of various techniques of healing where the pressure at certain points could cure almost any disease. This brings two very important therapies of alternative medicine: acupuncture and reflexology.

The Foot Reflexology studies the reflection points of the feet and their relationship to each part of the body. Stimulating these points helps to relax and find your own body energy balance. It is applied on the feet, is very healing and recognized in most parts of the world as a very effective method of support to the medicine, really effective for a myriad of diseases, prevention and support for alternating with their medical treatment.

Practice of Reflexology is a technique developed from a study implemented in the area of the feet, where it is investigated thoroughly, first of all, signs and conditions in this zone in each patient. Having studied the area, it proceeds to a stimulation of blood on a map as a guide to plant, where they can locate the 126 points that are along lines called meridians. The first effect is produced by stimulation of deep relaxation, muscle tensions are mitigated and this is reflected throughout the nervous system of the body.

This stimulation releases endorphins and neurotransmitters from the meridians, causing a very beneficial and healing effect in the body which operates and circulates through the peripheral nervous system and vegetative reaching the muscles, bones, organs, glands, systems, and all the whole organism. Each meridian at key points of the foot is connected to a body organ. The pressure in particular areas and specific points can affect the neuromotor system and neurovegetative in a particular way which is reflected in the fact that each part of the body responds. The Reflexology acts in the muscles, bones, arthritis, organs, urinary tract, fibrosis, muscle spasms caused by injuries reflexes. It also acts benefiting from colic pains, acts favorably stimulating the kidneys, liver, glands, muscle tensions, lungs, circulatory system, harmonizes the smooth functioning of the systems, helping to combat headaches, migraines, lumbago, etc. It has been shown that also regulates the metabolism, muscular symmetry and active circulation. The technique is studied and practiced well using a useful tool indicated for the treatment of postoperative pain during childbirth, sports injuries, etc.

The Reflexology is based on a widely tested theory which explains the existence of micro-lymph and nerve connections in many specific points of the body between them. Those are areas where reflex zones are located on each side of the body which they called Micro-reflex Zones.

Liver, for example, has small micro-reflex areas in the feet and the palms of the hands, in the pavilion of the ear into the scalp, in the iris of the eyes, nails and in some places. Through proper stimulation of these points, the functionality of the organ can be changed, prompting the body to recover and restore the balance of its functions, the natural balance of vital energy and harmony throughout the body.

The Reflexology is not trying to replace the assistance of a professional medical treatment or medication or any that the patient is using, however, the combination of a good nutritionist and reflexologist is a more efficient strategy that can be an extraordinary to really regain full health, whatever the disease. This has much to do with the attitude of the patient in front of his condition, because has a lot to do with the value we give to each medical or alternative therapy.

Exploring new alternatives is a resource that provides new knowledge and new ways of dealing with something. Tires a lot of dependence on doctors and medicines and get to believe that the disease is something foreign to the body when one has virtues in the most extraordinary powers of healing. Being healthy is not the quest for silent symptoms and has nothing to do with a miracle. Health is the natural state of mankind, and every time it seeks ways to stimulate the healing quality of the body, which in reality is the true nature.
