Oooh I actually tried this fruit a while back, and I really remember not liking it! I’m not sure if I got a good quality fruit though, because it was pretty mushy and quite sticky. I remember I was so curious about how the name of the fruit was pronounced. But ever since that one time I bought it I haven’t seen it in stores again!

It’s nice to try new and “exotic” food sometimes, but it is really expensive and difficult to find lychees here in Central Europe, so I doubt these recipes are something I will be trying in my kitchen any time soon. I was under the impression that they are more oriental fruits and are no doubt delicious with local and seasonal produce from the same areas ie lemongrass, sesame seeds, sheets of rice paper, etc.
