Recipes to prepare Vegetable Milks

Ingredients

  1. Mix all ingredients in a blender

Preparation

  1. Combine the pistachios in a blender with a cup of water for about 5 seconds at high speed.
  2. Lower the mixer speed to a minimum for another 15-20 seconds.
  3. Add another cup of water to the mix
  4. Let the mixture sit for a while
  5. Add two cups of hot water
  6. With a clean cloth squeeze all the content of the mixture
  7. Repeat process (steps 2 and 3) with two cups of water
  8. Keep refrigerated.

Soy milk

Ingredients

  • 1 / 2 pound (227 grams) of white soy
  • 3 gallons of cold water
  • Cinnamon to taste

Preparation

  1. Soak soybeans overnight.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a blender (mixer).
  3. Boil the resulting mixture for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat when mixture begins to boil.
  5. Strain the resulting liquid.
  6. Keep refrigerated.

Quinoa Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of raw quinoa scrubbed
  • 4 teaspoons of syrup or honey or brown sugar (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 7 1 / 2 cups of hot water

Preparation

  1. Combine the quinoa in a blender with a cup of water for about 5 seconds at high speed. Lower the mixer speed to a minimum for another 15-20 seconds. Add another cup of water to the mixture.
  2. Let the mixture sit for a while. Add two more cups of hot water.
  3. With a clean cloth squeeze all the content of the mixture.
  4. Repeat process (steps 2 and 3) with two cups of water.
  5. Add brown sugar or syrup. Keep refrigerated.

Sunflower seeds milk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 3 teaspoons of syrup or honey or brown sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 1 / 2 cups of hot water

Preparation

  1. Mix in a blender sunflower seeds with a cup of water for about 5 seconds at high speed. Lower the mixer speed to a minimum for another 15-20 seconds. Add another cup of water to the mix
  2. Let the mixture sit for a while. Add two cups of hot water
  3. With a clean cloth squeeze all the content of the mixture
  4. Repeat process (steps 2 and 3) with two cups of water
  5. Add salt and syrup. Keep refrigerated. The milk has a greenish color.

    I have developed a liking for the almond milk but I only have buy it in the naturist shop. It is kind of expensive so I was thinking in learning by myself to prepare this delicious milk in my home and I found this article, which not only explains how to prepare almond milk but other varieties!     quinoa milk??’ for real? , well maybe it is nutrious but surely it doesn´t taste so good at all, but well if you say so

    Oh how cool!! I have been dairy free now for quite some time, and I actually avoid most plant-based milks that you buy in the store anyway, because I don’t like the thought of consuming preservatives that were used to extend shelf life. This is perfect!
