Quinoa recipes for weight loss

If you want to increase the variety in your dishes low in fat, and become well nourished, nothing like the quinoa, which is an important food in the Andes, it is the seed of an herb but is considered a grain. It has a very interesting composition which makes it a super food in the diet to lose weight, very nutritious, rich in protein, iron and magnesium with the advantage of being low in fat and very versatile in the kitchen. It has a pleasant taste and smooth texture, and is exceptionally versatile and easy to use.

Quinoa Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 round onion
  • 1 turnip
  • 1 leek or celery
  • 1 cup of quinoa
  • 1 cup of chickpeas
  • Small pieces of seaweed for sushi
  • Kombu seaweed (a slice)
  • Salt and oil

Preparation

  1. Put the chickpeas to soak overnight.
  2. The next day, boil one hour in a pressure cooker, with a piece of kombu seaweed.
  3. Cut all vegetables in small pieces, fry them with a little oil and then add water to a boil.
  4. When the vegetables are done, strain the broth, put salt to taste, and add the quinoa and chickpeas to cook for about 15 or 20 minutes.

Quinoa Salad with Spinach

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of quinoa
  • 1 avocado
  • Spinach
  • Mint leaves
  • Lemon
  • Lemon zest
  • Alfalfa sprouts
  • Olive oil
  • Sesame seeds to taste

Procedure

  1. With a cylindrical mold, make a base of quinoa in the center of a plate, like hamburger, then soak the spinach and mint with lemon and olive oil, more lemon zest.
  2. Put over with your hand, add sprouts, cut the avocados into petals and decorate with sesame.

Salad with Quinoa puree

Ingredients

  • 5 servings of steamed mixed vegetables
  • 200 grams of quinoa
  • 600 grams of potatoes (medium)
  • Soy milk
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Pinch of pepper

Procedure

  1. Cook the quinoa according to the basic setup mode. Separately, cook the peeled potatoes. Grind both preparations.
  2. Add milk and olive oil and season. Put in the fire and stir for few minutes until thickened.
  3. Serve and mix with raw or steamed vegetables.

Quinoa with Spinach

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 2 bunches of spinach
  • 1 cup of cooked quinoa
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt, nutmeg
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Grated cheese

Preparation

  1. First, sauté onion in a little olive oil. Add the chopped celery stalk and two bunches of previously boiled and chopped spinach. Add a cup cooked quinoa and the three eggs.
  2. Stir with wooden spoon and season with salt and nutmeg to taste.
  3. Prepare a mold with very little oil and throw your preparation there, take it to medium heat oven until cake gets firm. Sprinkle with grated cheese.

Quinoa salad

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of quinoa
  • 3-4 tomatoes
  • 1 large avocado
  • ½ red pepper
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 2 tsp of palm honey
  • 1 fresh thyme
  • Salt, pepper
  • The juice of one or two lemons

Preparation

  1. Wash the quinoa several times, changing the water repeatedly.
  2. After washing, leave in a bowl of water for one hour.
  3. In a casserole, add the quinoa, add 500cc of water and simmer with the pot covered for 15 to 20 minutes until the quinoa grain is transparent.
  4. Put in another container and let cool.
  5. Cut the avocado, peppers and diced tomatoes and add to quinoa.
  6. Season with oil, lemon and mustard. Garnish with sesame seeds.

    This is an ingredient that is perfect to create amazing and exotic dishes, I love learning new recipes with ingredients from South America because I really like that place, I want to travel next year and try new food and stuff, and it?s nice to be able to prepare amazing South American in my house.

    Is there any way to prepare quinoa flour? I think I once saw a box to prepare quinoa cookies but I’m not sure….

    What great recipes! These all sounds really tasty adn super easy to make. I have a super great quinoa salad recipe that is super easy to make, and it’s very filling. You cook the quinoa in vegetable broth, then once it’s cooked you add celery, lemon juice, carrots, crainsins, fresh mint, pine nuts, and garlic, and it is wonderful!
