The 17th edition of the most important Spanish fair about organic products has reached its end. Thus, organic food and cuisine of the hand of the eco-chefs have been the subject that was closed this new edition of BioCultura NCB, Organic Products Fair and Responsible Consumption state's largest Spanish.

The assessment by the organization and the exhibitors was very positive: "In times of economic crisis, the consumer is interested in investing their money, and decided to invest in good nutrition and health," said Parra, director of BioCultura, who opened the show with Rosa Cubel, director general of Agriculture and Livestock from Generalitat in Catalunya, and Carme Ruscalleda, who recalled that "recovering the original food and traditional forms of agriculture-friendly environment is now modern and future trends. "

Approximately 70,000 people visited the fair of organic products and responsible consumption looking for information on choosing a conscious consumption. Also flocked to the more than 200 activities that were conducted in parallel and are the mainstay in which BioCultura asserts itself as a leader in Catalan and Spanish panorama.

The fair highlighted here by the large influx of professional public, which is, in turn, an indicator that the business of "bio" is and will continue to rise. Cubel said that "even in times of crisis, the organic food industry continues to grow. Specifically, in production, 13% in 2009. And 15% in consumption. The Department has positive discriminatory measures to favor those who opt for a type of food and agriculture that benefits us all. Right now, we're working hard to promote organic food to be introduced increasingly in school canteens. "

Different forums such as the Ecological School Gardens Forum were held, which was a sellout and that showed the increasingly high number of teachers, in the school garden organic support materials for the teaching of children. Environmental Disease Forum was attended by three prestigious doctors who openly declared from the scientific world the influence of toxins of all kinds in the emergence of new diseases and as a direct cause of the high rate of others such as diabetes, obesity and cancer.

And finally the Forum of Eco-restaurant closed four days of intense activity with the keynote of Carlo Petrini, founder and president of Slow Food International, which ruled that the "new relationships between producers and consumers are at the base of a new and real economy. "

In parallel, the Green Festival for Children MamaTerra again grabbed the attention of schools and families that had a great time while learning to love Mother Earth, which must be on the basis of education of new generations.

So…there’s all this talk about “economic crisis”, and I’m not really all too convinced that it isn’t just entirely made up. WHO exactly is experiencing this “economic crisis”? I am 28 and have been poor my entire life. Poor growing up, poor in college, and “poor” now. And so was my mother, and her mother, and her mother. Is “economic crisis” not just a fact of life?
