Non-Hodgkin lymphoma: Causes and Natural Treatment

Published: 05/03/2013 - Updated: 07/01/2016

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer that develops in the lymphocytes, which are a type of white blood cell in the blood. This type of lymphoma differs from Hodgkin's disease and the latter is a type of cancer that is found in the lymph nodes, liver, spleen or bone marrow. There are several types of non-Hodgkin lymphomas which are classified according to the rapidity in which they manifest. People with a weak immune system are most likely to suffer it.

Symptoms of non-Hodgkin lymphoma:

  • Cold sweats, wet sheets or blankets of the bed or clothing, even if it isn't hot outside.
  • Fever and chills.
  • Itching in the body.
  • Weight loss.
  • Swollen lymph nodes either in the armpits, groin, neck, etc. If the cancer affects the thymus or lymph, the chest may have difficulty breathing or coughing.
  • In some cases, abdominal bulge, which causes loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting.
  • If the lymphoma affects brain cells you may have trouble concentrating, seizures or headaches.

Knowing the body in order to heal it: Immune System and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Another name to call the immune system is the lymphatic system, which is a major part of the defense system of the body and is responsible for producing cells so that the body can fight illnesses. The lymphatic system includes lymph, blood, spleen, lymph nodes and lymph vessels, which produce or transport the lymph from tissues into the blood.

Lymph is a clear, whitish liquid substance which contains white blood cells, among which the lymphocytes are, the cells that attack bacteria from the blood. In addition, lymph contains a liquid that comes from the intestines called chyle, which is rich in protein and fat.

Furthermore, the lymph nodes are soft and small bean-shaped structures that are located in clusters in various parts of our body such as the neck, armpits, groin and inner centre of the abdomen and chest.

Lymph nodes are responsible for producing immune cells that help the body fight infections, as well as serving as filters for the lymph fluid, cleansing and removing foreign material, toxins and cancer cells. When a bacterium is recognised in the lymph fluid, the lymph nodes trigger increased production of white blood cells to fight infection, so it is common to swell in cases of infection. Your glands may feel swollen in the neck, groin and under the arms.

Lymphomas are nodules that may develop in any organ and the causes can be any of the following:

Causes of non-Hodgkin lymphoma

  • Excessive stress on the person which causes wear of the immune system.
  • A poor diet or poor absorption of nutrients.
  • A feeling of not being able to defend against environmental circumstances which cause us feelings of resistance, resentment, etc..

Starting a deep healing treatment

To treat this condition is very important that the person restarts his/her lifestyle, from eating habits to their mental and emotional habits. Considering cures by aggressive treatments such as chemotherapy or chemicals will not help the person really cleanse the body and restore their energy flow. We have to go inside ourselves and start being aware of what we feel and the life we lead, we may be living in circumstances that make us feel excited or enjoyment, or feel that we are subjected to live as we do not like or somehow feel that "we cannot defend" what we really want to accomplish in life, so that the body reflects this dissatisfaction or unhappiness in your immune system.
