From January 23rd to 25th, 2012, the 19th edition of Bio Millésime will take place, which exhibit the most exclusive organic wines in the world. The fair was born in 1993 at the initiative of the association of winemakers of the Languedoc-Roussillon (AIVB-LR) and although it started as a small-scale event, over time it became more important, to the point that currently reaches thousands of people, including producers, fans, experts, etc. from around the world.

The fair will be open on 23, 24 and January 25 at different times. The first day from 10 am to 7 pm, the second from 9 am to 7 pm, and the third, from 9 am to 5 pm. In Millesime Bio, there is not an order for stands; all the speakers have the same materials to showcase their products: cups, spittoons, ice, among others. This does not mean there is no organization, but they try to give the same things to all producers and no one has more advantage. That way, visitors can judge better each wine. Besides this peculiarity, Millésime is very strict in the selection criteria for producers who want to participate, only those with the certification of organic farming in Europe. This means that all the wines come from vineyards that do not use pesticides, chemicals or other artificial added. There are completely green and organic products. The motivations that moved, and continue to mobilize, the organizing people have to do with the care of the environment, respect for nature and improving human health. All these premises are intended to produce wines of the highest quality, preventing soil pollution. Agricultural phenomenon grows every year, attracting more and more farmers and enthusiastic followers.
Millesime Bio Contest
In each edition of the fair held a competition that selects the best wines of each year, taking into account their organ-leptic characteristics. According to organizers, the contest has several objectives, which include the promotion of quality wine and the establishment of an industry benchmark for organic wines. The 2012 jury will be Gerhard Eichelmann, editor dedicated to the wine industry.
