Radiant and beautiful skin can be achieved using elements that we commonly find in our kitchen. Both for either dry or oily skin, there are options that are especially useful.

Oats are a nutritious cereal, however, it is not only good for us to consume them, but also to use them as an ingredient in face masks or creams, as they can work wonders for dry or oily skin without leaving an oily residue. The texture of oats helps exfoliate our skin without being aggressive, and their nutritional composition helps our skin look hydrated and radiant.

Oatmeal and yogurt mask

This mask can be applied to all areas of our body that we wish to be toned. It is advisable to apply this mask once a day. It is also commonly used to fight acne.

Ingredients

  • 1 wide-mouthed container
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • 1 small glass of yogurt

Preparation

Place ingredients in a blender and mix until well blended, empty it into the container and apply on your face or in areas you want to tone. Leave on for about 20 minutes. Remove, rinse with cool water and apply your usual moisturising cream.

Leave on for 15 minutes and remove with warm water. It is advisable to apply this mask in the morning.

If you have a dry skin, oatmeal is an ingredient that can keep our skin hydrated: Try it out with the following mask.

Ingredients

  • Henna Tattoo
    MORE IN BIOMANANTIAL
    Henna Tattoo
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • The fresh juice of one lemon

Preparation

Mix the ingredients until they form a smooth paste, apply it to your face avoiding your lips and eyes. Leave on for about 20 minutes. Once slightly dried, remove with warm water and rinse with cold water.

Oily Skin

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of oats flour
  • 1 egg yolk

Preparation

Mix the egg with the outmeal until well blended, then apply it to the face and neck, leaving the lip and eye contour. Leave on for 10 minutes and remove with warm water, then rinse your face with cold water.

For sensitive skin

If your skin is sensitive, i.e. looks dehydrated, dry, and is intolerant to external aggressors, the following mask may be appropriate for you.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of milk
  • ¼ cup of oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 lemon

Preparation

Leave the oats to soak in the milk for at least one hour. Once this time has passed, add a tablespoon of honey and stir in, adding a few drops of lemon. Apply the mixture to your face, leaving it on for 20 minutes and later remove with cold water.

To whiten your skin

Ingredients

  • 4 tomatoes
  • ½ cup of oatmeal

Preparation

Place tomatoes to boil until the skin starts to peel. Remove from heat and remove the skin completely, then shred with a fork in a bowl and add the oatmeal gradually, mixing well.
Apply the treatment on the area you want to whiten and leave on for about 15 minutes, removing with warm water afterwards.
It is recommended that you apply the mask twice a day for 15 days or until you achieve the desired skin tone.

So good article, it only includes recipes with ingredient that you can find in almost all house and their preparation looks pretty easy too, so now I do not have to go to the spa to get a nice treatment for my face but now I am going to make my own natural spa at home haha.

Thanks a lot for the recommendatios, this is pretty good for all the people that want to quickly prepare something for the skin and if you don’t have the time to go to the store and get a product that despite being expensive, can damage your skin as it has chemicals and non-natural ingredients

I’m going to try the mask for the fry skin, my skind tends to get dry during the autumn, I think it mught be caused by the dry air and the heavy wind, so before somethign bad happens, I will apply this mask at least 2 or 3 times per week until winter, there is nothing bad with that right?

Perfect!! I love these recipes! I am very interesting in making my own creams and cleansers, and this was JUST what I was looking for. I’m really glad you broke them down into skin types too, because it’s very true that not every skin type does well with just one cream. I like that these creams are all easy to make, with ingreadients most of us already have at home.

There are some really great ideas in this article, although aren’t oats a little abrasive for some specific skin types such as sensitive skin? I can’t imagine oats to be very soft, but then again I don’t have much experience with using them on my skin so maybe I should wait to try it before questioning it..! I really like the sound of the oat and yoghurt mask.
