Next Monday, the VII National Congress of Organic Agriculture and Food will begin in Zaragoza, where Comarca Los Monegros will participate actively. Those responsible for taking forward the initiative are the Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture (SEAE) a non-profit state level aimed at developing and improving the qualifications of farmers and workers engaged in agro-ecology, including commercialization and industrialization of agricultural production and organic food.
The VII Congress of Organic Agriculture and Food has the slogan “Organic Agriculture: Sustainable management of water and food quality", in order to address these two aspects of current public debate on rural development policies.
Within its Multi II Training Program in Organic Agriculture, SEAE offers a workshop to be conducted in Sariñena the next Monday and Tuesday, given by agro-ecological anthropologist, Mario Ardón and by economist and expert in the field, Estrella Bernal. In addition to the lectures, the seminar consists of field visits of to two farms in the irrigated area, in an ecological and conventional way to help consumer reaches cooperative environment.
On the other hand, the next month in November Los Monegros will host three workshops related to organic agriculture on the subjects of agro-livestock, dry and aromatic plants.
