Facial cleansing is one aspect that we cannot miss out in our routine care of our skin. For best results, it is important to identify the product that is best suited to your skin type.

If you want to apply a beauty treatment or if you want to have healthy skin, it is important that you always cleanse your face. Daily, we are exposed to the effects of sun, pollution, make-up, tobacco and other elements that punish and make our skin dirty. Therefore, it is necessary that good hygiene is practiced daily to remove dirt and debris, making it look healthy.

Which product is right for me?

When cleaning our skin, we generally opt for soap and water, which is suitable for cleaning the body, but your face is more delicate. The cleaning product for you will depend on your skin type.

Oily skin: Large and open pores, recommended products for cleaning are gels and facial soaps.

Dry Skin: This skin type has tension and tends to flake and have wrinkles, so cleanser milks are perfect.

Sensitive Skin: Tends to be easily irritated, so for cleaning requires a special product for sensitive skin, in order to avoid altering the hydro-lipid barrier of the skin.

Morning and night

For proper facial cleansing to be achieved, it is suggested that you do it twice a day, morning and evening preferably, as part of a daily routine. Regardless of whether or not we wear make-up, or whether you went out or not, it is important to acquire a habit of cleaning your face properly.

Steps for facial cleansing

  1. The first step is to use the product that suits your skin for cleaning such as gels, milks, soaps and so on.
  2. Use warm water to rinse and dry your face using a towel and gently pat dry, do not rub to avoid irritating the skin.
  3. Apply a suitable product to close pores and soothe the skin.
  4. Once the above product is absorbed, it is recommended to use a moisturiser with sunscreen for daytime, or a moisturiser for the night. Do not forget the eye and the neck area.

Peeling: For very damaged skin

This is a treatment that involves applying chemicals that allow the eliminating of a layer of superficial skin in a controlled way which will also stimulate cell renewal.

It is usually recommended when there is an excess of dead cells on the surface of the skin or when there is any alteration in the structure of the epidermis, for example in photo-aged, hyperpigmented, rough, dull skin or acne.

The results of peeling are favorable as the skin looks healthier after these procedures, but it is important to consult with a professional to find out which type of peeling is most appropriate for you. You may also find that a simple, natural "scrub" option is perfect for you.

Recommendations

Try to choose quality products: Remember that even if they are an extra investment, they are more durable and the formulas and ingredients are of a better quality than the most economical options.

If you find blackheads and/or pimples, do not try to press them with your fingers as this can infect the area, and also damage the skin. Try to use a product to remove or treat acne, or consult your dermatologist.

Thanks for the many recommendations, I just wash my skin once daily in the morning but it is so true that after the day the skin is dirt and full of toxins so we must perform something to avoid the pimples and other things that may appear, maybe just washing your face is the solution so thanks!

I usually forget to have the normal washing in my skin before going to sleep and even sometimes i forget to take the makeup of my face, and lately I have found out that I have more wrinkles, small but more, and I am not really old to have wrinkles so I am a little worried about this, so thanks for sharing those tips

Sometimes it is hard to remember that the skin of the face needs time to be cared, and now I have noted some problems in it, just like the previous person explained, maybe it is not too late to do something, I am just 30 now and there is still to much to do, and I want to look nice and young for much longer

This is definitely something I need to do more of. I’m going to be turning 28 soon and I don’t really take any special skin precautions, although I’m now starting to think of it for the first time, really…ever. hehe. I think I typically have sensitive skin, so I’ll have to make sure to look for something organic and natural. Thanks for the info!

It’s so true – facial care and cleansing routines, although a bit tiresome sometimes, are so important to maintain a clear and healthy-looking complexion. Personally I do not like to use cosmetic skincare products as they often contain all manner of plastic-based chemical nasties that I do not want to absorb into my body. I prefer natural oils and scrubs (dried and ground up orange peel works great!)
