Environmental Illness in 2010 Biocultura

Carlos de Prada, Nicolas Olea and Miquel Porta talk about environmental illness in Barcelona in BioCultura Scheduled for May 1, the seminar aims to show a broad view of the enormous health significance of chemical pollution.

Environmental Illness is understood as all those that are caused by the environment, although there is no definition or a specific listing, there are many closely linked as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, Idiopathic Environmental Intolerance, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, and others. The event will feature specialists in the field, including Carlos de Prada, a journalist and writer who has won awards including the Prize of the UN Global 500 Award and the International Fitness. Exposure of the expert, called "Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. The daily toxic risk, aims to address the SQM in the general context of diseases and related to exposure to toxic chemicals.

Nicolás Olea, Professor of Medicine at the University of Granada, will speak about endocrine disruptors, effects of altered hormonal balance which can be generated by many different substances and are considered one of the most important axes of many environmental conditions. In addition, the conference will be attended by Miquel Porta, researcher and Professor of Public Health, Municipal Institute of Medical Research and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona. The specialist will talk about "the environmental causes of obesity and diabetes", workshop on environmental illness.

In this day and age I really do believe that a lot of people are made sick by their environments. I read an article once that described how ironically (or not so ironically) women who lived around areas where diesel fuel emissions were high, had a much higher chance of giving birth to children with autism. Perhaps that's why we're seeing such an increase of it?

I would like to assist a conference like this one, I hope to see one in the coming months, or at least years, because this is city lacks of information about the environmental illness caused by the bad use of nature, so I hope to find a conference that talk about those topics, or maybe I should do it myself :)
