Some of the best side-dishes are prepared with pasta and rice. Pasta can have varied presentations and rice can be very versatile, but both are certainly very easy to find and recipes are easy to produce especially for those who like to try new recipes or those wishing to prepare a simple but flavorful dish at home. Any of these options is a sure-fire way to achieve this.

Contents

  • Cheesy Tortellini
  • Rice with celery and apple
  • Beef Pasta Stroganoff

Cheesy Tortellini

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of Tortellini
  • 250g of Diced ham
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 2 tbsp. of Olive oil
  • 200g of Manchego cheese
  • 100g of parmesan cheese
  • 2 portobello mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp. of parsley
  • Water
  • Salt and Pepper (sufficient amount)

Preparation

  1. Boil water with enough salt, a little oil and whole black pepper.
  2. Add the pasta and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until the pasta is al dente, meaning that it is still slightly firm. Drain and reserve.
  3. Chop the diced portobello mushrooms the same as the ham.
  4. Sauté the ham in oil and add the portobello mushrooms, frying until tender.
  5. Add milk, cream and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Drain the cooked tortellini and combine with the creamy sauce.
  7. Add the cheese at the last minute and chopped parsley as a garnish and extra flavour.

Rice with celery and apple

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 Apple
  • 2 celery stick
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 200g of Beef
  • 1 tsp. of chicken bouillon powder
  • Salt and Pepper (sufficient amount)

Preparation

  1. Chop the celery and onion finely and cut the apple into thin strips or slices.
  2. Sauté the onion, celery and apple in a deep pan so the rice and water can be added later.
  3. Add the rice and sauté until rice is light to lift it with a spoon – At this point the rice will not stick.
  4. Add the ground beef and season the mix, letting the meat cook so that the remaining ingredients can be added.
  5. Add 2 cups of water and season with the consommé, salt and pepper.
  6. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the rice absorbs all the water and is cooked.

Beef Pasta Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 200g noodle
  • 350g Beef
  • 50g Butter
  • 1 tsp. oil
  • 1/2 an Onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 cup of mushrooms
  • 2 cups of Chicken stock
  • 1 cup of Cream
  • 1 litre of Water
  • Salt and Pepper (sufficient amount)

Preparation

  1. Fillet or cut the mushrooms into quarters and finely chop the onion and garlic.
  2. Heat the butter with the oil to prevent burning and sauté the onion and garlic, stirring constantly until translucent.
  3. Add the mushrooms and continue to sauté, season with salt and pepper, cook until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Chop the meat into small pieces and add to the previous mixture, cook for about 7 minutes until meat changes color.
  5. Add the chicken stock and cook until the meat is cooked.
  6. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water and drain.
  7. Lightly sauté the pasta in a little butter or oil to prevent drying and to inject flavor.
  8. Serve portions of pasta with some sauce and meat.

I have to say that those are the main ingredients in the many dishes we have around the world and you just cannot get tired of them! They can go with almost everything even sweet ingredients like the fruits, you just have to try some imagination and enjoy something different!

Tortellini are a classic and with cheese they just become something amazing, I love the paste, for sure, who doesn´t? but well, maybe there are times when you need to stop eating it as it can cause overweight if used in a bad way, but if you consume it with healthy recipes including vegetables, sprouts and things like that, then you can enjoy of pasta as much as you want!

I have decided to prepare one of these recipes to share with my family, they eat a lot of rice and that could be great to impress them with something more elaborated than plaid rice, well, what do you think? What recipe do you recommend me? I do not want to spend so many time preparing it but I wanted to be delicious!

These recipes sound great!! and I’m getting hungry just reading them! I love love love stroganoff, but I haven’t been able to find a recipe that I really, really like yet though, so I’ll definitely give this one a try. I have found that one of my favorite easy recipes in just rice with marinara sauce and parm. cheese. Try it!!

The tortellini and stroganoff both sound delicious! Pasta and rice are such fantastic ingredients – you can do just about anything with them and they turn out great. Paella, risotto, fried rice, boiled rice, not to mention the many hundreds of forms of pasta. It’s difficult to regulate the intake of pasta/rice though as they can contribute to being overweight… it’s just so good though!
