Change: A bridge between the known and unknown

Published: 02/11/2007 - Updated: 08/20/2016

Every day, even a little, though we do not note, we change. It is nothing new to know that change occurs throughout nature, from rocks to clouds change at any time. Our body and our thoughts make it. The change occurs at this interface that exists in all life. Life is for touching, and if the tree touches us with its color and the air with its freshness and aroma, we touch with words, looks, with thinking and hands, and usually when we touch, we are also being touched. Everything we touch, however tiny it is, affects us, and that condition causes reactions within us that go to our brain, where thoughts and feedback is our way of perceiving and acting turns from our experiences. It seems that this is so natural that even you could say that even one would have to think or evaluate a change but the simple feeling and a flow would have to be changed without any conflict. However, it seems that often the changes cost us, and seem to be especially difficult when the fear is near.

Fear is, in short, a lack of confidence. With the fear I'm not referring to the precautions to be taken when crossing a street or care for a child of two years, I mean that feeling in the head or the feeling that something terrible might happen… Speaking of fear, among other things, we are talking of the unknown. The unknown is something that imposes, because it is not known and, having no knowledge of something makes the person feel that this can be exceeded by a certain circumstance, which will be beyond control. You are afraid when you ignore something, but this ignorance is not exactly something that is out there, but is an aspect of yourself.

Someone wisely said "Know yourself", well because he knew that this was undoubtedly the gold from which life can shine and be enforced in an unexpected way. Knowing oneself means above all learning to trust in yourself, to drift out from the statement "life is an adventure for me and will enrich me”. The trust is created mainly from the place where life is observed. If we see life as an adventure to acquire knowledge of what we are, if it is a place to awaken the sleepy qualities and strengths, to broaden the criteria and make more flexible and noble thinking, then anything in life, even contradictory and opposite that is, it will be a more serious challenge to what we are, to reflect a little more today, to acquire new experiences with this knowledge. True, when people do not let life flow this way, stop a natural process of change, growth and maturation. When one refuses to live experience that is necessary for growth, body and all of nature, with its great strength and wisdom,  things may appear to worsen or become more difficult and confusing.

Where there is a very difficult situation, which causes us great anxiety, fear, sadness and despair, this means, in the depths of its message, that there is something we have not valued or seen. Maybe there's something you do not want to see for fear of losing or letting go. That feeling of emptiness, of feeling a great pain in the chest, is just one way that the inner, wise and loving you says "you need to give yourself what you most fear losing". And it is true. Learning to respect and love, is, in the end, and that such lack of emotion, fear and emptiness we want to explain in some way, "you have not developed in you, learn how to make you happy, learn to enjoy yourself, to give time to encourage you to get you out of your head and let these terrible thoughts pass by without affecting your head because you know that nothing terrible can happen. Be confident in life and your possibilities. Do not lend your attention to what you do not want, and if it appears in your head foolishly avoid it, veil, and say OK, I saw you, but you have no power over me. I am the one who created my experiences and I choose my thoughts. And then turn your attention and your will to those that are valuable to you."

True that we could not stop talking about this without fear of death. Certainly we cannot expand and give more freshness to our lives if for a moment we don’t contemplate the meaning of death. Questions like how did you live your life? Are you really satisfied? These are questions that can be quite revealing. And to cross this bridge between "old-for-knowledge" and "extraordinary knowing" we must find before that point of peace within ourselves, we must be prepared to have to go to each step. How? Listening to what life says. And usually, at every moment, life blows us a delicious message: "Be creative. Be strong "And if this is still complicated, you can hear a little deeper and you see that says" Make your life in all forms that may be. If you have a deep longing, no doubt you have the chance." But if this still makes us complicated, then you should listen to more serious things, more simple as “Love yourself, give time and understanding to feel”. And then you not only begin to attract into your life that you have developed in you, but you can give from deep inside you, and you can share it and move more smoothly through your adventure.

Whether you want to change your diet, attitude, change a habit. It is true that it is very nice to "change" with someone. But truth is that change can cost a lot if we do not do it on the love for oneself, because if you do it for vanity, to indulge, taste or look good for someone else, then the thing will always have its confusion and its many anxiety, because our attitude comes not from our full and deep conviction, but our movement is a contradiction to be expecting this external "reward" to what we do, when it is much cooler our own values and beliefs and encouragement from the statement "I prefer to be loved by a person by who I am, than being loved by a thousand by who I am not"

Moving and flowing through the bridge called Change can be a pleasant adventure for fun as if we are required to rush, to go slowly through and enjoy the questions “How do you feel? Why are you doing? Why do you want? What can you lose?”

And one thing that I could not let go to change something else: "Create a habit, you will reap an attitude. Create an attitude, you will reap a character. Create a character and you will reap a destiny”.

I find that as I grow older, I have to establish more strict “timelines” for myself, in order to get everything done. I have a more well-defined schedule, as being self-employed you need to be very disciplined and structured with your time. While this really helps me excel as an entrepreneur, I also wonder if it is not creating a certain rigidity towards change that I never really had before. I’ll keep this in mind…
