Ayurveda or the Science of Life, is surely the world's oldest medicine. For over 5000 years of practice, perhaps because it has earned the reputation as "The Mother of All Healing".

Ayurveda, coming from India, joins together body, mind and spirit. The system is linked to the promotion of a deeper insight into the life and development of a more open and receptive way.

Who knows about this healing system that will know it has a strong influence on many systems and it has developed medicine in various parts of the world. Ayurvedic herbs and formulas appear in the Traditional Chinese Medicine, and also in the acupuncture. Ayurveda (with secondary influence of Chinese medicine) is the fundamental principle of Tibetan medicine and the Indus Buddhism. There are ways of Ayurvedic medicine in Nepal and parts of Thailand.

In the West, Ayurveda is a natural alternative medicine, which has rapidly gained territory and prestige.

The practice of medicine has many advantages: an internal growth, a development at all levels, a very effective medical service to humanity, and it is recognized by the World Health Organization.

The correct Ayurveda deals with all aspects of human beings and not just the symptom or the physical body only, but includes new findings for the practitioner can understand the world and new forms of relationships more profitable and beneficial. Being an advocate of spirituality, Ayurveda helps create a higher consciousness and a much richer and deeper way in the world. It is believed that a holistic healing being as ourselves has body, mind and spirit that are intimately connected and affect one another. Its teaching philosophy involves aspects of the nature of life and the karma, evolution and reincarnation. To achieve new understandings, it uses techniques of yoga meditation exercises, and can be used to heal physical and mental level.

An Ayurvedic therapist must be able to identify the following information in your patient:

  • Physical constitution of the individual

News

This old traditional system of medicine to treat and prevent diseases, gained ground on major health agencies in countries like United States, London, Singapore or Canada. Ayurveda, despite coming healing thousands of people since ancient times, and rely on some natural products made from herbs and other elements to promote health of body, had a somewhat controversial news which we take for this article clarify. Currently, in some parts of the world, was vetoed some of these natural remedies because it said the products contained high levels of metals such as lead and mercury and arsenic, and harmful metals that pose high toxicity risk health. Some of these banned products are those that are used for cure of diabetes, among which are the Diabecom and Jambrulin. It was also criticized the use of Ras Lakshmivilash, a remedy that was used to combat fever, colds and coughs, as well as Karela, Maha Sudarshan Churn, to relieve flu and muscle aches. All this comes in the wake of India erupted in a controversial story about a doctor named naturist Swami Ramdev, who leads a television program in the country, and who was accused of using human bones and animal remains in their ayurvedic products. However, this yoga teacher said that these accusations came just a conspiracy made up of people of international companies who do not agree with his indigenous medicines. However, the Ministry of Health of the state of Uttaranchal made a detailed investigation regarding the matter, and finally stated that the accusations are false, that the remedies actually contain only herbs. The consequences of all this was the creation of a new legislation by the Indian government called Golden Triangle, which seeks greater control of these natural products, so consumers can approach them with confidence.
