5 Recipes for delicious sandwiches or baguettes

Have you ever tasted a baguette baked with pepper sauce? How about a salmon sandwich? They are cheap, healthy and easy to prepare. The sandwich and the baguettes are two popular dishes around the world, highly appreciated for lunch time; we can work in countless ways and add ingredients both salty and sweet. On this occasion, we have chosen recipes that are scrumptious. We must remember that the success of a good sandwich or baguette is due to two things: the ingredients you select, which should be fresh and of the highest quality, and bread, which must be always fresh and dressed as taste.

Special recipes for sandwiches

Chicken and buttermilk sandwich

(Serves 6)

Ingredients

  • 12 to 18 slices of bread
  • 6 chicken breasts cut into steaks
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 scallions, thinly sliced tender
  • Clean lettuce leaves and dry well
  • 3 tomatoes, washed and sliced
  • 2 roasted red peppers and cut into strips
  • A little thyme or parsley (which is preferred)
  • Butter
  • Dry buttermilk or natural unsweetened yogurt
  • Little olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the garlic with the thyme or parsley, salt and pepper and a little olive oil. Bring sliced chicken breasts to this marinade and leave some time in the refrigerator. Meanwhile, cook spring onions sliced very thin, so they are golden.
  2. Toast the slices of bread with a little butter. Once past the time of the marinade, prepare the breasts in a pan with some oil. Spread each slice of bread with a little buttermilk or yogurt, up to a leaf of lettuce, then tomatoes and finally the chicken, the sliced onion and some roasted red pepper strips. If you want to put a little more buttermilk and cover with another slice of bread, cut into triangles and serve freshly made with a side of fries or chips and salsa if desired apart and a salad.

Cream cheese and tomato sandwich

(6 people)

Ingredients

  • 12 large slices of good bread
  • 400 gr. of spreadable cream cheese (can substituted by cottage cheese)
  • A little butter and tomato sauce to taste.

Preparation

  1. Put on six slices of bread a good layer of cream cheese, then cover with bread. In this way we form 6 sandwiches.
  2. Spread with a brush each of the sides of sandwich with a little butter and tomato sauce and do in a plate. Fry in pan a little. Serve immediately as should be eaten hot.

Salmon and fine herbs sandwich

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of white bread without crust and tender
  • 16 slices of salmon
  • cream cheese flavored with herbs
  • a little cream or butter softened

Preparation

  1. Mix cream cheese spread with a little butter cream. Grease generously a slice of bread and put a salmon.
  2. Repeat. Finish with a slice of bread that also spread the cream cheese and butter and then place a slice of salmon. Cut into triangles because they eat more easily and serve.

Vegetarian Baguette

(6 people)

Ingredients

  • 6 individual baguettes
  • 12 slices of vegetarian ham
  • 6 tablespoons of mayonnaise or soft buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped dill (best fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • 12 slices of the cheese you prefer

Preparation

  1. Mix the mayonnaise with the dill and mustard. Open baguettes and if you want, toast a bit.
  2. Spread the prepared sauce and place in each two slices of ham and two of cheese. Close and serve at room temperature.

Baguette with Red Peppers

(Serves 6)

Ingredients

  • 6 open mini baguettes
  • 150 gr. of butter
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • Chopped parsley
  • 300 gr. of cheese to taste
  • 2 roasted red peppers and diced (may be preserved)
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. In a bowl put the butter, the garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well until pastries with it. Spread the baguette slices and put the cheese mixture and the diced red pepper, then sprinkle with chopped parsley on top and brown in the oven.
  2. Eat immediately. If desired serve with a salad. In this way you have a quick, rich, simple, affordable and healthy dinner.

    I love sandwiches! All of them, since they are very versatile and you can include all the ingredients you want, but most of them are not healthy anymore because they include a lot of fatty products as mayonnaise and others, so people think they are bad and that?s not true, you just have to find the right ingredients and prepare them by yourself at home.

      I love them too! they can be a complete food if you know to combine the ingredients, try a sandwich of salad and some tuna and that’s enough for me!

    those recipes are sweet! I love sandwichs as much as anybody does! and they are great if are healthy, can even be a complete meal, if you know how to preapre them and of course avoiding dressings as they might be more caloric than the whole meal!
