Gastritis is a common stomach upset, several factors may influence the onset and development, we can classify it in:

Acute gastritis: is an inflammation of the stomach lining. It may be due to excess alcohol, food poisoning or a bacterial infection. An attack of gastritis can be triggered by medications such as aspirin or arthritic.

Symptoms include abdominal pain and tenderness, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting.

Chronic Gastritis: Occurs when the symptoms persist for a long time. Perhaps there is an invasion of bacteria infecting the stomach lining, which occurs most often in middle age and can relate to other disorders, such as chronic stomach ulcers or lack of vitamin B.

Helicobacter Pylori

It is now known that this bacterium is the cause of most ulcers and gastritis. An estimated two thirds of the world's population is infected with Helicobacter pylori. However, some natural remedies are quite effective in its eradication.

Turmeric

This species of Asian origin is the famous curry's main ingredient, and has many medicinal properties, which have been extensively studied. On this occasion, we can focus on the benefits it brings to the digestive system.

Turmeric is used to treat dyspepsia, a condition that includes various digestive problems such as bloating, upset stomach, nausea, belching, etc. However, this species is also good for digestion as it stimulates the production of gastric juices, and protects the stomach mucosa by inhibiting the action of Helicobacter pylori.

However, despite its many benefits, experts recommend to consume turmeric sparingly, although it was found safe for consumption, is not recommended for long periods or in excess.

Ginger

It is a medicinal plant whose beneficial properties have been used since ancient times. It is an excellent digestive as it helps to reduce heartburn, and also has a powerful bactericide which is able to eradicate the dreaded Helicobacter Pylori bacteria. Its digestive properties make it an excellent ally against gastritis.

General recommendations for gastritis

Rebuild your digestive system, by following these recommendations:

  • Take alcohol sparingly. If possible, remove it completely, for the sake of your stomach.
  • Low inflammation by controlling severe stress, because it can trigger a chain reaction that alters the stomach lining.
  • Do not eat too much, or too fast.
  • Try to avoid food and drinks that contain caffeine, which can cause the stomach lining to become inflamed.
  • If you suffer an acute attack, stop eating, drink water at room temperature over a period of a few hours to a day and gradually introduce more foods slowly, until your stomach has recovered.
  • Avoid spicy foods and those that are very high in fat.
  • Quit smoking and avoid those who do.
  • If you identify a drug as a cause of gastritis, then ask your doctor for another option to eliminate this source.

That's a long name for gastritis, but I guess we all know what it is. My mom (and I) both have really sensitive stomachs. My mother's seems to be a little worse off because she doesn't really take care of herself that well. She has been having really bad reflux (and from what it sounds like, gastritis as well). The doctor put her on an elimination diet. After all was said and done, they actually eliminated all raw foods from her diet. I know that raw foods can be hard to digest, but now the only fruits and vegetable she eats are canned. I just don't think that could really be good for her. I'll give her this article to read to see if it helps her situation.

I know that gastritis can be a real problem to anyone since my sister have it and she suffer from many pains and other conditions because of that, I think that alcohol can be the problem but maybe the medicaments too, because she drink a medicine that her doctor recommend her and maybe it?s too strong.
